Drum Lessons
The following are great resources for drum teachers as well to use in conjunction w/ drum lessons. It is irrelevant to how many different things become available to download online regarding drumming tips & drum instructional tutorials. There’s nothing like having a coach there to guide the student and answer questions, providing feedback and catering to individual learning curves and setbacks.
Here you will find effective and professional drumming systems from Latin, Jazz, Rock and Drum Rudiments, even Bass Drum Techniques. Just remember that a drummers main goal is to groove and in essence amplify and accentuate what the music is doing. All the great drummers past and present have a knack for supporting and enhancing the music.
From 03 to 06 I taught private drum lessons, making house calls to several students. It was invaluable, being able to pass along good, basic fundamentals to aspiring players. Around the same time I landed a teaching gig with Hudson Arts Alliance after school music program. Getting to teach younger kids in a group setting was also a great opportunity and was a lot of fun. From 97-99 I taught drum lessons at Mercuri Music located in Westboro, MA. Currently, I still consult and provide advice here and there to a couple of drumming friends (though we encourage and push one another to keep moving forward)
